We have decided to use Eagle Creek rolling duffels when we set off to travel. Through seemingly endless reading of product reviews plus personal experience, traveling using these durable , we feel, is the right choice for us. I have always been an over packer every trip we've taken I have packed way too much stuff! Giant heavy suitcases filled with copious amounts of clothing and gear for all types of weather and situations, just in case.
When airlines imposed a weight restriction it was a help because we hate paying airlines more than we have to, a lot more than I need to over pack. So given we will be traveling like nomads we may need to be hauling our belongings for longer than we ever have in the past. Add a six-year-old boy in the mix and it's a no brainer we need to keep our hands free and carry a load light enough so we can bolt at any moment. My Challenge now is how to keep a giant sack organized. Having used packing cubes in our suitcases in the past and loving them, I began to search for something like cubes that would fit better in a pack.
We found the perfect thing!
It's called the HoboRoll by Gobi Gear. Travel organization with item separation and volume reduction up to 50%!!!
Made from lightweight yet durable nylon fabric this organizational genius features:
- 5 internal compartments
- Drawstring end closures for versatile access
- Quick-release buckles and compression straps
- Built in handle strap and tool loops
- Reduces packed volume by up to 50%!!
The Hoboroll is designed to suit everyone, from the adventurous traveler to those who just like being organized. I have used the Hoboroll on a day trip kayaking packing a full change of clothes, waterproof pants, paddling gloves, down coat, waterproof coat and shoes into the indispensable Hoboroll and then fit it into a 20L dry bag. Also for a weekend away packing clothes for Rob, Mak and myself in one Hoboroll!
To purchase the Hobo Roll check out version 2.0 on Amazon.com and order your Hoboroll in the color you love, of course. The capacity of each Hoboroll is 19L and it weighs only 3.5 ounces or 100 grams.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received the Hobo Roll for free from Gobi Gear to try and experiment with. I saw this sometime back, just the photo. Not the details about what it actually is and brand name. Looks pretty useful and interesting thing. Pity that I can’t use the discount coupon

I was shocked how much I could get into it! I really like the separations, they keep stuff organized and also work to separate clean from dirty laundry. The material it’s made of is supper tough so you can really reef on the compression straps to make it as small as possible.
