Welcome to The United Kingdom!
The United Kingdom is not the most budget friendly travel destination. But expensive as it is we felt compelled to find a way to make visiting affordable. We succeeded thanks to a mixture of a few different things, and let me tell you it was worth all the effort we had to put in to make spending six weeks traveling this stunner of a country affordable! England’s most alluring attribute was the air of deep-rooted history that radiated from almost every place in the land. It was almost like its myriad of quaint towns and stoic castles had grown straight from the earth over centuries, to create the most sublime landscapes.
We found getting around in England to be a breeze. We visited big cities like London and Liverpool and bustling market towns like Bury St. Edmunds and never had a problem getting anywhere we wanted to go. Public transit was excellent, and the train rides we took through the English countryside were highlights in themselves! House sitting assignments set our travel schedule and saved us a boatload of money too. We will apply for more house sits here because we definitely haven’t seen enough of the United Kingdom.
