Affordable Luxury at Motel One- The Best Budget Hotel in Brussels

Certain things rarely go as well as we’d hoped while traveling. In fact, sometimes we even expect to be disappointed, especially when it comes to hotel stays. The biggest disparity is always between rates and amenities- good value for money is most often, hard to find. We need to stay in hotels a lot because of our lifestyle and we’re always searching to find brands that offer the best value.

We had an opportunity to spend a few days in Brussels recently and were delighted to learn a hotel brand we’d been impressed with in the past had a location there. Staying with them in Brussels helped us create an awesome quick trip. The location, the service, and the amenities were all incredible- no disappointment with this hotel stay! And, yes, it is a budget hotel – rates are low- less than $80 USD a night.

The hotel brand I’m writing about is Motel One

Here’s why we think they’re the best budget hotel in Brussels.

Location and amenities- incredible convenience

We were only in Brussels for 48 hours and were determined to see and do as much as we could while there. The location of hotels is always important to us. We love to explore cities on foot so easy access to attractions is a priority whenever we book accommodation.

Motel One Brussels is perfectly located in a primary central location. You can’t get any better than that in our books!

Being ten minutes walk to the center of Old Town, 200 meters from a metro station and tram stop, and close to the train station we had absolutely no problem getting around Brussels quickly and affordably.

Another thing that is a priority for us when booking a hotel is breakfast. Hotels that offer a great breakfast for a good price to more precise. Gluten free options are always important as well because of my allergy.

Motel One in Brussels offers a delicious selection of breakfast choices (glutenous and gluten-free); fresh fruit, a selection of cold meats and cheeses, yogurt, cereals and granola, and a whole range of pastries. We all had no problem finding something delicious and satisfying to eat!

Not having to venture out and find a suitable place for me to eat also helped us make the most of our 48-hour stay. The breakfast buffet is great value for 9.50€. Both days we weren’t hungry again until dinner.

Appearance- Stunning Style and comfort

Motel One’s motto is “Great design for little money”. They have successfully combined designer hotel elements and low rates for a delightfully enjoyable cheap stay in Brussels. The common areas are unlike any other budget hotel we have ever stayed in. The design and furnishings look and feel more four-star than three-star and the use of space in the hotel is thoughtfully and efficiently laid out.

The common spaces are roomy with high ceilings, opulent lighting, and plenty of inviting seating. There was even a lovely outdoor courtyard. Sitting out there you’d hardly know you were right in the heart of a busy city!

The rooms are compact but comfortable. This is where the design really shines. There are alcoves, hidden shelves, and hanging spaces throughout the space. The room is cleverly organized and not one bit of space is wasted. We got all nine of our bags inside and didn’t feel cramped or trip over a thing.

Service- Friendly polished professionalism

There were many things that impressed us about Motel One’s Brussels location but the best part was definitely the service. This is where I am most critical, and I have to say everyone we encountered on the Motel One team was stunningly professional, friendly, and genuine.

The front desk was welcoming and helpful with tips for the metro and places to eat. The bartender in the lounge was conversational and funny and the staff at breakfast made us all feel at home.

We think Hotel Brussels Motel One really is the best budget hotel in Brussels and so do a lot of other guests. They boast a 98% recommendation rate and over 7000 excellent reviews! If you’re planning a trip to Brussels, Hotel Brussels Motel One is the budget hotel we would recommend.
